Hi there,

I wanted to personally share an important update with you, because you are part of our Mayan Legacy community and I believe in being transparent about how and why we make these decisions.

For the past year, I have been absorbing the increased costs involved in making and importing our Mayan Legacy hammocks. I made the decision to hold our prices for as long as I possibly could, rather than passing those costs on to you.

But yesterday, I made the difficult decision to increase our prices to bring them much closer to what I believe is a fair market price.

This decision was not made lightly.

Our hammocks are handmade in Mexico by a wonderful team of skilled people who put real time, care and love into every hammock. I believe strongly that they deserve to be paid fairly for the work they do. I simply cannot continue absorbing every increase in production and importing costs if it means compromising their fair pay.

And, as the person importing these hammocks into Australia, I also have a family and a business to support. If I continued selling at our previous prices, the reality is that I would eventually have to close the business — and that is something I do not want to do.

Over the years, thousands of happy customers across Australia have been able to enjoy a genuine Mexican hammock made with care and quality. I am incredibly proud to be the largest importer of Mexican hammocks here in Australia, and I want to continue bringing these beautiful hammocks to more homes for many years to come.

So while I know a price increase is never exciting, I hope you can understand what is behind it.

It means continuing to pay our Mexican team fairly.
It means maintaining the quality of our hammocks.
And it means keeping Mayan Legacy alive and continuing to share these beautiful, handmade Mexican hammocks with you.

Thank you for supporting a small Australian business, for valuing handmade craftsmanship, and for helping us make sure the people behind every hammock are treated fairly.

I truly appreciate having you with us.

With gratitude,
Alicia Gambley
